Marking your gift as delivered
Once your gift has been dropped off (or delivered by post/courier), please log in and mark it as Dropped Off on Koha Tree. This matters more than it might seem:
It lets the school or organisation know your gift has arrived, so they can plan handing gifts out to tamariki.
It stops us (and the school/organisation) from following up with a "have you dropped off?" reminder you don't need.
If several gifters forget to mark theirs, it can look like more gifts are missing than actually are — which causes unnecessary stress for schools trying to make sure every child gets a gift.
Forgot to mark it?
No problem — if you realise later that you dropped off but never ticked it off, just log in and update it whenever you remember, or let us know and we can update it for you.
What happens after that
Once your gift is marked as delivered, the school or organisation will hold onto it until they're ready to distribute gifts to tamariki — generally in the final week or two before school breaks up for the holidays, or at another event they organise. You may receive a thank-you message once your gift has been matched with a child and delivered through to them.
Why the check-ins happen
In the lead-up to drop-off deadlines, you might get a check-in message from us asking how your koha delivery is going. This isn't a sign anything's wrong — it's simply part of making sure every child on a project's list ends up with a gift, and it's often the fastest way for us to catch and fix any gaps (like a gift dropped off but not marked, or a delivery that didn't go through) before Christmas.
