Where and when
Your drop-off location, days, and hours are shown on the Your Koha tab once you're logged in and matched. Some schools and organisations also offer an after-hours drop-off option if you work standard business hours — check your Your Koha tab, as this isn't the same for every project.
If the details you see don't seem right, or look different from other drop-off info you've seen (for example, a different address or an unfamiliar contact name), please let us know — occasionally a page hasn't been updated and we'd rather fix it than have you turn up to the wrong place.
No one there / gates locked
This happens sometimes, especially outside school hours or during holidays. If you arrive and can't find anyone or the gates are locked:
Get in touch with us (see contact details below) and let us know which project and location this was for.
We'll check with the school or organisation and get back to you with the best next step — usually another time to try, or an alternative drop-off point.
You don't need to keep trying multiple times on your own — flick us a message and we'll sort it.
Running late or missed the cut-off date
Life happens, and a late gift is still very welcome. If you're going to miss the stated drop-off date:
Let us know roughly when you expect to drop it off.
In most cases, a few days late is completely fine — schools and organisations usually don't distribute gifts the moment the deadline passes.
If you're not sure whether it's "too late," just ask — it almost never is, and we'd much rather you check than not send the gift at all.
Dropped at the wrong place, or the school isn't participating
Occasionally a gifter drops off at a school that turns out not to be running Shoebox Christmas this year, or at the wrong location for their match. If this happens to you:
Don't worry — this is a mix-up we can fix, not a lost gift.
Contact us with what happened and where you left it, and we'll help redirect it to where it needs to go.
Can't get there at all?
If your circumstances change and you're no longer able to drop off in person (distance, timing, anything else), see Posting or Couriering Your Gift — this is a completely fine alternative.
