Our Community Kaupapa (Philosophy): The spirit of koha is about giving without expecting anything specific in return. We intentionally don't allow people to cycle through children to find a particular age or gender they’d prefer to give to.
What This Means:
If you use "Give Less" and then "Give More" immediately, you'll be matched back with the same child
This prevents people from trying to "shop" for their preferred recipient
The focus remains on the act of giving, not on who you're giving to
Why We Do This: True community giving is about contributing to whoever needs support, not about finding the "perfect" match for our own preferences. This approach strengthens our collective spirit of aroha (love) and manaakitanga (care).
Remember: Every child deserves a thoughtful gift, regardless of their age or gender. Your generosity makes a difference no matter who receives it.
