We understand that sometimes circumstances change and you might need to leave a project. Here's how to do this thoughtfully.
The Process:
Click "Leave project" on your project summary page
Confirm your decision
Your matched recipients will be returned to the pool for re-matching
Please Don't Leave at the Last Minute: If you leave a project close to the gift delivery deadline, it becomes very difficult for us to find someone else to provide that koha. This could mean a child misses out on receiving a gift.
Best Practice:
Leave as early as possible if you know you can't participate
Consider the drop-off dates shown on your project summary
Remember that our organisers are volunteers who need time to find replacement gifters
Alternative Options:
Before leaving completely, consider if you could ask whānau or friends to help fulfill your commitment
Check if reducing your koha number (Give Less) might be more manageable than leaving entirely
We understand that life happens, but please help us ensure no tamariki (children) miss out by giving us as much notice as possible.
